Janitor AI
Janitor AI offers free unlimited chats with community characters on its standard models. The official subscription FAQ separates that message access from its roughly 9k-token free context window: longer histories can exceed memory without using up a daily message allowance. Optional janitor+ adds context, priority routing, and enhanced swipes. Its iPhone and Android apps support interactive fiction and roleplay. Choose it for story-led conversations; external model APIs and Router usage can involve separate costs.
Free access: Unlimited standard-model chats; paid upgrades optional · Source reviewed: 2026-10-26

Chub combines character cards, lorebooks, branching chat, and model connections. Its current subscription FAQ offers new users one-time trial credits worth a few dozen messages, rather than publishing an exact recurring daily quota. The remaining message estimate depends on settings. Its own hosted models are available through a paid subscription, while external API costs depend on the chosen provider. The former iPhone app ID returned no record in Apple’s US catalog on October 26, 2026; use the website in Safari.

SillyTavern is a locally installed, open-source interface for text models, image engines, and text-to-speech. It supports character cards, World Info, group chats, personas, and optional extensions. You need an inference backend: the interface is free, while hosted APIs or local hardware can carry separate costs. It is a power-user tool rather than a ready-to-chat hosted service. Official installation guides cover desktop platforms and Android; no native App Store or Google Play app is linked here.
